My first blog carpe diem!

Hello all, this is my blog about Computer and Tabletop gaming.

I first should give a little background about my gaming past, present and future.

Being from the old Atari/Coleco vision/Sega and ye olde 286XT generation I constantly find myself what a long way we've come since then. With systems like the Playstation 3 and multi core processors in the PC's, gaming electronically has brought people together along the same medium. On the flipside, my experience in tabletop gaming in 1st-3rd edition Dungeons and Dragons, Shadowrun, Gurps, Battletech, Mechwarrior has provided me many nights (long ones I might add) of pure enjoyment.

Currently I find myself bouncing between several systems. I own all of the current platforms (Nintendo DS/Wii, Xbox 360, PS3/PSP) and recently have gotten quite engrossed in Warhammer 40k.

For the uninitiated (which kinda includes myself), Warhammer comes in two flavors:

Fantasy, which is ye olde Orcs, Elves, Humans, etc with swords and magic style. From my limited experience (I have a Tomb kings army) I find it to be fun but at a different pace than its more futuristic counterpart Warhammer 40k (or just 40k).

Warhammer 40k is based in the future in a somewhat post apocalyptic universe where many races are striving for dominance. Some of the iconic figures are the Space Marines, Orks and Tyranids. There are a multitude of other races but i'll leave that for another post.

Between the two I an currently enjoying 40k. Albeit for just under a month and about 4 real games under my belt, I find that regardess of skill level, there are many in the gaming club that I frequent on a weekly basis are mostly (95%) quite knowledgeable and helpful.

For those near the Marietta/Roswell areas, the place I am referring to is Gigabites Cafe. Their website is http://www.giga-bitescafe.com.

I should mention that their sandwiches are amazing. (no really, there's a sandwich called the amazing....rightly so if I may plug it...it is my blog afterall XD)

Anyhow, this is my first post and I will be adding some battle reports and pictures on the games i'm involved in (and some that i'm not).

Thanks for reading!
